\"Doctor<\/a>Un estudio pre cl\u00ednico, en el que se eval\u00faa el proceso degenerativo que ocurre en el cu\u00e1driceps cuando se corta el tend\u00f3n patelar, fue el trabajo presentado por el doctor Alex Vaisman, docente e investigador de la Facultad de Medicina CAS-UDD, en el Magellan Meeting del Congreso Mundial de Artroscop\u00eda realizado en junio de 2015.<\/p>\n

Durante la investigaci\u00f3n realizada en laboratorios de la Facultad de Medicina CAS-UDD, se descubri\u00f3 que desde la segunda semana de la lesi\u00f3n comienza una infiltraci\u00f3n grasa progresiva del m\u00fasculo.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan cuenta el doctor Vaisman, \u201chasta ahora existen estudios de infiltraci\u00f3n grasa en manguito rotador del hombro, pero muchos pensaban que s\u00f3lo se da este fen\u00f3meno ah\u00ed por la anatom\u00eda particular de este grupo muscular del hombro. Nosotros demostramos que esto no es as\u00ed\u201d.<\/p>\n

El pr\u00f3ximo paso ser\u00e1 realizar un estudio experimental \u2013que ya se encuentra dise\u00f1ado- para ver si estos cambios son reversibles, ya que estudios \u201cen manguito rotador muestran que el m\u00fasculo infiltrado por grasa en el manguito rotador, pierde funci\u00f3n de manera irreversible\u201d, explica el investigador.<\/p>\n

Esta versi\u00f3n del Congreso de Artroscop\u00eda convoc\u00f3 a cerca de 3.500 traumat\u00f3logos de todo el mundo. En tanto, el \u201cMagellan Meeting\u201d es una instancia dentro de este encuentro mundial que re\u00fane a un selecto grupo de m\u00e9dicos del \u00e1rea que han realizado un Travelling Fellow de traumatolog\u00eda deportiva a nivel mundial. En esta ocasi\u00f3n, el doctor Alex Vaisman fue el \u00fanico chileno en participar.<\/p>\n
