class=\"sr-only\">Siguiente<\/span><\/a><\/footer><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Este mi\u00e9rcoles 20 de diciembre se dio por finalizado el Plan de Mejoramiento Institucional \u201cInnovaci\u00f3n basada en Ciencias en Salud\u201d de la Universidad del Desarrollo con un gran paso para seguir contribuyendo a la innovaci\u00f3n en el pa\u00eds. UC Davis Chile y la UDD firmaron un acuerdo de colaboraci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica que busca generar innovaci\u00f3n en el \u00e1rea de las ciencias.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dentro de los focos del trabajo colaborativo entre ambas instituciones, est\u00e1 el fortalecimiento de capacidades de los investigadores y profesores de la UDD en \u00e1reas prioritarias mediante la visita de expertos, y gesti\u00f3n de pasant\u00edas desde y hacia UC Davis en EE.UU; oportunidades de estad\u00edas de los estudiantes de postgrado de la Universidad en UC Davis en EE.UU; y la consolidaci\u00f3n de las capacidades en innovaci\u00f3n y emprendimiento en alumnos y docentes de la UDD, entre otras actividades.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">La Fundaci\u00f3n UC Davis Chile, dirigida por Alan Bennett, tiene como misi\u00f3n crear una plataforma para investigaci\u00f3n colaborativa entre UC Davis e investigadores chilenos, para apoyar la innovaci\u00f3n en ciencias de la vida en Chile y California; transferir efectivamente tecnolog\u00edas de ciencias de la vida desde UC Davis y desde los programas colaborativos del Centro UC Davis Chile hacia la industria del pa\u00eds; y enlazar los programas educativos y la creaci\u00f3n de capacidades de UC Davis con chile.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cHace cuatro a\u00f1os no habr\u00edamos sido capaces de llegar al punto en que una universidad de clase mundial como UC Davis nos elija a nosotros para desarrollar innovaci\u00f3n y emprendimiento, y no solo en Chile. Su prop\u00f3sito es transformar Chile en un HUB, al menos en Sudam\u00e9rica (\u2026) Y el PMI nos permiti\u00f3 llegar hasta ac\u00e1\u201d, asegur\u00f3 el rector de la Universidad del Desarrollo, Federico Vald\u00e9s, quien adem\u00e1s catalog\u00f3 positivamente esta nueva alianza, se\u00f1alando: \u201cestoy seguro que nos va a permitir prestigiar a\u00fan m\u00e1s la Universidad del Desarrollo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">El Plan de Mejoramiento Institucional de la Universidad, es un fondo otorgado por el Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n con el fin de impulsar la innovaci\u00f3n basada en ciencias. El programa se ejecut\u00f3 durante cuatro a\u00f1os, un per\u00edodo que si bien ya tuvo su fin, en el sentido conceptual continuar\u00e1 avanzando, tal como la afirma la directora de lo que fue el PMI UDD, Nancy P\u00e9rez:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cEsta iniciativa no muere hoy. Hay una estrategia de investigaci\u00f3n con impacto que va a seguir junto a este impulso. iCono, que son los servicios de Transferencia Tecnol\u00f3gica, ya est\u00e1n disponibles para toda la Universidad\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Por su parte, Federico Vald\u00e9s, rector de la Universidad del Desarrollo, coment\u00f3: \u201cHoy d\u00eda podemos decir que tenemos una institucionalidad con una innovaci\u00f3n basada en ciencias, tenemos capacidad de gesti\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica, hemos mejorado significativamente nuestro indicadores de investigaci\u00f3n, hemos sido capaces de fomentar la ciencia hacia la innovaci\u00f3n\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">La Vicerrector\u00eda de Innovaci\u00f3n y Desarrollo y la Facultad de Medicina Cl\u00ednica Alemana Universidad del Desarrollo, formaron un equipo clave para el \u00e9xito del PMI de la UDD, escenario en que el Dr. Pablo Vial, director del Instituto de Ciencias e Innovaci\u00f3n en Medicina (ICIM) de dicha facultad, expres\u00f3 sus agradecimientos a todos los investigadores del ICIM: \u201cYo estoy seguro que todos los que est\u00e1n ac\u00e1 y hacen investigaci\u00f3n, quieren ser protagonistas del desarrollo del pa\u00eds. Y los son.
