Mi interesa el desarrollo e integración de herramientas bioinformáticas para el análisis de datos de genómica médica. Me he enfocado en investigar aspectos básicos del ADN mitocondrial: heteroplasmia, dinámica de transmisión y evolución. Actualmente, me interesa entender la coordinación genética entre los genomas nuclear y mitocondrial, y cómo variantes genéticas que afectan esta interacción contribuyen al desarrollo de enfermedades.
Interests
I am interested in the development and integration of computational tools for the analysis of medical genomics data. I have been focused on basic aspects of mitochondrial DNA biology: heteroplasmy, dynamics of transmission, and evolution. I am currently interested in the genetic coordination between the nuclear and mitochondrial genomes, and how genetic variability affecting the mito-nuclear interaction contributes to diseases.
